Transferring your domain name to us
Why should I transfer you my domain name?
If you've bought a domain name yourself, it is your responsibility to keep up with the legalities and tech knowledge needed.
Most of our clients are small businesses or sole-traders and don't have the time or knowledge to manage it effectively.
In our 10+ years of business, 99% of all website connection issues have come from a client letting a domain name expire or they experience a problem they cannot fix.
The solution = transfer it to us!
Q: But people tell me not to let anyone else be the owner of my domain name?
A: We agree! You will always be registered as the official owner of your domain name. We are registered as the managers, meaning we are responsible for the legalities, tech support, and billing. But if anything should happen to us, you can reach out and claim the domain name.
Q: How much does this cost? Is keeping it myself cheaper?
A: On our web management plans, a domain name with us is free. With another provider, they are usually between £10-£20 a year. Plus, with us you get tech support included.
Q: I get all this, but I still want to manage it myself.
A: In your web management plan contract, it states that if you maintain management of your own domain name, we are not responsible for any connection issues that arise due to an issue your end. This means if you let it expire, or don't respond promptly to emails from your provider, we may not help you get your website back online. If you're happy with this, you're very welcome to look after it yourself.
Q: What domain provider do you use?
A: We are GoDaddy Partners.
